Board Certified Behaviour Analyst Supervision

BCBA supervision refers to the structured and supervised experience required for individuals pursuing certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). The Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) mandates that prospective BCBAs complete a specific number of supervised fieldwork hours in order to demonstrate their competency in applying Behaviour analytic principles effectively.

Unfortunately, at this point we are not offering supervision for those seeking to pursue their BCBA certification. However, things may change in the future. Please stay in touch.

The Importance of BCBA Supervision:

Skill Development: BCBA supervision provides a unique opportunity for individuals to develop and refine their skills in ABA. Under the guidance of a qualified supervisor, practitioners gain valuable hands-on experience, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings.

Ethical Practice: Supervision ensures that practitioners adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by the BACB. It promotes the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, and client welfare, thereby safeguarding the well-being of individuals receiving ABA services.

Feedback and Guidance: Supervision enables practitioners to receive regular feedback and guidance from experienced professionals. This feedback helps individuals to identify their strengths and areas for improvement, leading to continuous professional growth.

Quality Assurance: BCBA supervisors play a crucial role in maintaining the quality of ABA services. By closely monitoring the work of supervised individuals, supervisors ensure that interventions are evidence-based, effective, and individualized to meet the specific needs of clients.

BCBA supervision is a critical part of professional development for aspiring BCBAs. It ensures the acquisition of essential skills, adherence to ethical guidelines, and the delivery of high-quality ABA services. By offering guidance, feedback, and support, supervisors contribute to the growth and success of individuals in the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis.

Types of BCBA Supervision:

Individual Supervision:

This one-on-one format provides focused attention and personalized guidance from a supervisor. It allows for in-depth discussions, case conceptualisation, and the development of individualised professional goals.

Group Supervision:

Group supervision involves multiple supervisees working together under the guidance of a supervisor. It offers opportunities for shared learning, brainstorming, and collaboration among peers.

Supervision in Different Contexts:

BCBA supervision may take place in various settings, such as schools, clinics, or community centers. This allows practitioners to gain experience and expertise in different environments and populations.

Distance Supervision:

In certain cases, BCBA supervision can be conducted remotely through online platforms or teleconferencing. This flexibility provides access to supervision for individuals who may be geographically distant from their supervisors.

Self-care and wellbeing:

Taking care of oneself is crucial when supporting individuals with challenging behaviours. Our training program emphasises the importance of self-care and provides carers with strategies to manage stress, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and seek support when needed. We believe that caring for oneself is central to providing the best possible support to individuals with disabilities.
